Promote seasonal agriculture in southeast PA
Teach consumers how to prepare, source, and incorporate seasonal ingredients in their home kitchen

The Demo Kitchen is located in an auxiliary tent just outside the exhibition areas, with space for 60 seated + 10-20 standing audience members
The audience is an engaged group of food lovers and enthusiasts, eager to learn and sample delicious offerings!
They range from serious locavores and experienced farmers market shoppers to newcomers exploring local food for the first time! The Demo Kitchen is a special opportunity to gain a new audience.
With an event of this size (4,000 shoppers), the Demo Kitchen offers an exclusive and unique opportunity to capture an intimate, engaged audience.

Our committee will review the proposals to curate a Demo Kitchen line-up that meets the needs of our event audience. We evaluate using the following criteria:
Consistency with our Demo Kitchen goals (above) & GFF mission
Seasonal and local sourcing
Collaboration with other local farmers or producers
Creativity and innovation
Recipe and application thoroughness

DEMO FORMAT & DETAILS

The Demo Kitchen tent is located next to TENT 2, off the BARN.

Demo Kitchen presenters will need to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time to begin prep.
Presenters will only have 10 minutes to set-up inside the Demo tent prior to the start time, unless otherwise arranged.
There will be a dedicated tent behind the Demo area for prep & storage. Presenters may drop off supplies for Demo beginning at 9am.
The actual Demo area includes one 8ft table and an additional 8ft staging table located behind the presenter.
Demo presenters are expected to begin & end on scheduled time.

The demo should take approximately 1 hour from set-up to breakdown. An estimated timeline is included below:
Set-up: 10 minutes
Demo: 30 minutes
Sampling / Questions: 10 minutes
Breakdown: 10 minutes
*GFF will accept Demo Kitchen proposals that are shorter or longer than this estimated timeline on a case by case basis. Please include these details in your application.

Each presenter is required to prepare 60 samples to distribute to the audience.
Samples should be between 2-4 oz.
Samples can be prepared ahead of time and pre-packaged, or prepared onsite.
Presenters must provide their own sample packaging (compostable packaging is encouraged, but not required)
GFF will supply compostable forks and/or spoons, along with cocktail-size napkins.
Presenters are responsible for any additional packaging requirements beyond those provided by GFF.
GFF Demo Kitchen staff will be available to hand out samples to audience.

Demo Kitchen presenters must provide additional staffing to cover the exhibition table during the demo, as the Demo Kitchen is located outside of the exhibitor areas.
Additional staff may also be required to assist with set-up, the demo, or breakdown as needed - this is at the discretion of each presenter.

Presenters should provide their own equipment. Applicants must supply a comprehensive equipment checklist and specify any electrical requirements in their application.
If equipment poses a challenge, GFF may offer assistance to support interested applicants. This will be considered on a case by case basis.
